Crystal Colour Guide

How the different crystals look has an influence on their meanings and properties when it comes to healing.

Firstly, colour... think chakras, auras, colour therapy and the different vibrations of the various shades of colour. For example:

CRYSTAL COLOURS
Black: Grounding, root chakra, absorbing negativity
Brown - Earthy, grounding, stability, security
Red – warrior energy, courage and strength, passion, vitality
Orange – creativity, appetite, pleasure, sexuality, intimacy
Yellow – Uplifting, optimism, energy, problem solving
Green – heart centre, healing wounds, renewal, growth, nature, joy
Blue – calming, mental and emotional, communication, intuition
Purple – Creativity, intuition, wisdom, peace, serenity
Pink – Love, trust, freedom, kindness, childlike joy
White – Clarity, cleansing, raising vibration, higher realms, purity, higher thinking
Gold – success, light, luck
Multi coloured – Balance, creativity, independence (+ properties of the individual colours)

PATTERNS
Striations/Stripes – Express energy. Help it to flow e.g. Blue lace agate.

Spots – something to pay attention to e.g. black spots in a white crystal connects with the dark or shadow self aspects
Shininess/luster – Radiance, attraction – energetic differences
Transparency - Does the crystal hold light? = transformative Or reflect it? = protective          
Spikey – defensive or smooth – feminine, soothing

MINERALS
The minerals within the crystals have an influence on the colours presented. Some examples of minerals found are:

Iron – good for anaemia – hematite, garnet, peridot, amethyst
Aluminium – Beryl, Rose quartz 
Lithium – good for depression, lepidolite
Metals – EMF, magnetism, electricity - hematite
Calcium – in Fluorite
Sulphur – Lapis lazuli
Volcanic minerals e.g. Obsidians – from lava
Asbestos - Serpentine
Copper – Malachite
Gypsum - Selenite
Phosporous – Turquoise, Apatite

SHAPES
Cluster – Teamwork, family
Cube – Solid support, building blocks for healing
Egg – Birth, creation, fertility
Geode – Focus point inside
Heart – Love, relationships
Carvings – Refocusing energy, sculptor’s intention adds to the energy. E.g. animal energy, angels.
Obelisk – Connecting spiritual with physical
Pyramid – Amplifies energy, manifestation
Sphere – Wholeness, completion
Point – Directs energy from the top
